Inaugural 3pt Open
On July 2-3, 2022, more than 100 three-point shooting specialists competed in the Inaugural 3pt Open.
3pt Open is considered to be the highest-stakes three-point shooting contest in the world.
2022 3pt Open Champion
Anthony Miracola was crowned the 2022 3pt Open Champion. Miracola hit 23 of 25 shots in the championship round, posting a total score of 31 points (out of a possible maximum of 34) to beat Mike McGuire. Miracola has an impressive "resume of shooting excellence" and holds more than 8 Guinness World Records, including:
- 201 free throws in three minutes;
- 31 three-pointers in one minute;
- 93 three-pointers in three minutes; and
- 12 three-pointers in a minute with a single ball and no rebounder.
2022 Runner-Up
Mike McGuire hit 17 of 25 shots for a final round score of 24 points. McGuire was a sharpshooter during his collegiate career at Western New England University, where he posted career averages of 44.3% three-point percentage and 94.1% free throw percentage.
2022 Third Place
Jay Jameson came in third place. Jameson played college ball at Temple University. Leading up to the event, Jay shot a perfect round (25 of 25 shots) on 16 separate occasions and posted the videos on his YouTube Channel. (https://www.youtube.com/@JamesonBBall/videos).
2022 Fourth Place
Jordan Riewer came in fourth place. Jordan played college basketball at Minnesota State University, Moorehead, and shot 48% three-point percentage his senior year and played 5 years professionally in Germany, Czech, Croatia, and Australia. Riewer recently won Red Bull's "Run the Racks" shooting competition at the Twin Cities Pro-Am event.
